What will I be doing in the class?
Besides having the most fun ever? We will be going over some cookie decorating techniques, decorating your own set of cookies, and answering any questions you may have.
 
What is an additional take-home kit?
Take-home kits are also known as DIY kits. Many cookie lovers purchase additional class kits to take home and ‘re-do’ the class. Take-home kits will be the same exact designs and colors of the class you signed up for. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class - so don't forget it!
 
Do I need to know how to bake?
No! No baking experience required.
 
What will we learn in class?
You’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing, the value of different icing consistencies – we’ll touch on tips and tricks to make your cookies look even better than they taste (and they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme such as marbling, outlining, wet-on-wet, brush embroidery, and painting. Or hey – go off script and make your own designs – it’s your class!
 
What do I need to bring?
Nothing but a smile! Everything will be provided for you including my (rather tasty) sugar cookies. All you need to do is join us and have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring your own apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing. There will be a live video on the TV for reference, so if you wear glasses, we'd encourage you to bring them as well. Oh – and bring your phone – we love photos!
 
What age is best for cookie classes?
This class is designed for those age 12 and up. If your child is too young to attend the in-person class, purchase an additional take-home kit! We also offer kids classes, ages 5+ and up! Make sure to register for the correct class.
 
Can just my child take the class?
This class is open to those ages 12 and up. Those aged 12-15 must be accompanied by a responsible 16+ cookie buddy. For this class, the buddy can buy a ticket and join in the decorating or can step over to the main dining room of Fallston Barrell House and enjoy their offerings!   Due to space restrictions, we do not have room for buddies to stand by and watch the class. Anyone planning to decorate will need their own ticket for the class – but we promise you this - it's super fun for all involved!
 
Can I sign up as an individual or as a group?
You can sign up either as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We are limited to a total of 20 seats per class. Be sure to sign up ASAP! Please be sure to list the names in your group/party, so we can accommodate your seating arrangements.
 
Where are the classes located?
This class will be held at Fallston Barrel House in Fallston, MD. 2403 Bel Air Rd., Fallston, MD 21047.
